Hybrid clubs let golfers get a taste of the A-game

Hybrid golf clubs have become a popular staple on the PGA tour\Source: Adams Golf Products

According to USA Today, one of the hottest advancements in the world of golf is the Adams Hybrid club. These clubs are used by some of the world’s champion golfers, including Irish superstar Darren Clarke. Designed to send the ball on a higher trajectory, they made a great showing at the recent PGA tour, where they are the number one hybrid used.

The amazing thing is that these clubs are considered legal. Many of the potential technological advancements to golf are banned from official tournament play before they can become staples because of the way they provide an unfair advantage. But the Adams Hybrid clubs don’t provide enough of a modification to a player’s natural talent to be considered illegal.

Advancements in Course Maintenance Can Improve Play, too

Not only are advancements in the world of club technology improving the game, but advancements in golf maintenance technology are also helping to improve the experience of many players on professional courses and local clubs alike. With these developments taking place so rapidly, it can be difficult for players to keep up with the process: don’t be surprised if you see a new tool helping to improve course etiquette at your local home course in the near future.

The recently developed WISP golf tool helps to clean up the green where it was traditionally difficult to maintain a clean playing surface. After hitting a ball from the bunker, many found that it was nearly impossible to move the sand and debris that would build up on the grass. This meant that the next player would be less likely to receive a clean, optimal putting surface; and no matter how much golfers tried to maintain good etiquette, it was often inconvenient, time-consuming and frustrating to remove all that sand.

Using a normal broom to help with this process causes damage to the grass; and as a result, many golfers resort to hand slaps and hat swipes in an attempt to rid the greens of the debris. But now, the WISP golf tool is making it easier for everyone to pitch in when it comes to maintaining the beautiful greens you would expect to see on any major professional tour.

We’ve designed the wisp to be affordable, meaning that as the superintendent of your local golf club, you won’t need to modify your budget in order to put these next to ever hole. The wisp player etiquette tool is guaranteed to bring a greater experience to the course. To schedule your free demo of the wisp player etiquette tool contact us today!

Online shopping and counterfeit golf products: tips to stay scam-free

Counterfeit clubs\Source: Golf Week

Shopping online has become common practice for many of us. Only trouble is, sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between reputable sites that carry high-quality sports gear and those looking to make an easy, less-than-honest buck.

According to The Cypress Times, there has been a marked increase in the number of counterfeit golf products bought and sold in the U.S. over the past two years. Peddlers of these phony wares purchase equipment from other countries, package items to resemble the original and sell them online to unsuspecting consumers.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is doing its best to protect both businesses and consumers by intercepting incoming counterfeit goods. In 2011 alone, the CBP seized 265 counterfeit golf products, amounting to a domestic value of $192,000 and an estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $589,000.

Despite the best efforts of the CBP, counterfeit products of all kinds will inevitably make their way into the U.S. one way or another. The best thing that consumers can do is to take a few precautions when buying online:

  • Research dealers before buying to ensure they are reputable
  • Ask the brand owner for list of authorized dealers
  • Be skeptical of deals that sound too good to be true
  • Be aware of return policies if you’re not satisfied with the product
  • Be aware of money-back policies
  • Research the legitimacy of foreign websites before buying

Ediquete LLC: A company you can trust.
