Eben Dobson III, Owner and Founder

In December 2010, Eben Dobson established Ediquete LLC with the mission to seek out, find and design products for the betterment of the game of golf. An experienced golfer himself, Dobson was always a passionate disciple of the game; and now, he hopes to ignite a renewed awareness of equality and playability amongst players and industry professionals alike by promoting a new generation in golf course etiquette.

Dobson’s mission began with a simple observation: that time and time again, golfers littered sand across the putting surface after bunker shots and tracked sand onto the green via improper footprints without any single, universal and officially sanctioned solution to the problem. Over time, he realized just how significantly sand on the putting surface can impact playability for other golfers on the course – and that, without a clear method for removing the sand, players were left with unequal course conditions and marred aesthetics, both of which detracted from the integrity and tradition of the game as a whole.

Based on the concept behind the classic yet archaic dew whip used by marshals and crew members at Augusta, the WISP represents a modern upgrade in golf course etiquette – and a means by which to bring the aesthetic perfection and pro-level playability demonstrated at world-class courses to the rest of golf for improved equality across the board. Dobson ensures that the WISP will serve as a reminder for the golf community – as a symbol of the new etiquette that will not only solve a common problem, but also improve playability, aesthetics and maintenance – all for the betterment of the game.

Eben Dobson is based in San Diego, California, where he and his team continue to teach and promote this new etiquette to members of the golf community.
